Elm Bank

A few weeks ago Bob traveled to Elm Bank in Wellesley to scout out locations for what was then an upcoming engagement session. I'm hoping I can convince him to post some of the e-pics on here later.

Elm Bank was once a private estate but it is now operated by the Massachusetts Horticulture Society. Hopefully one day I'll get to visit, but in the mean time I'll just have to sustain myself and you with some of Bob's fine art photographs of the gardens.
He has two more, but I'm going to save those for another day.

Shuster Family Sneak Peek

The Shuster family recently purchased one of Bob's donated family portrait packages through an auction at their temple. Bob of course was delighted and everyone met a little over a week ago for their shoot at the Larz Anderson Park in Brookline.

Between the intermittent rain drops Bob captured some classic portraits. Here are two of the Shuster daughters Emily and Abby.
There's plenty more, but you'll have to ask the Shuster family to see them.
I don't think I'll be back before next week, so have a happy weekend everyone!

Playing Catch Up

Things have been pretty busy over here at the Ruscansky studio... I've been filling album orders like mad which means I've been neglecting the blog. BUT I'm finally caught up... at least until Bob walks into this tiny office and gives me something else... so I'm blogging. Hooray for that.

In addition to albums I've been putting together some new promotional materials. The joy of being a photographer is that you always have new material to show clients, which means that you can always being doing something to update your website or blog or printed promotional items. It's a blessing and a curse. Since I can't post 30 album pages for you to see, I thought I'd share an image that will soon be a postcard coming to a mailbox near you. Well, if you're lucky.
I wish my living room looked like that. I think my problem is I have too many books... no bookshelf is safe, it always ends up filled to the brim. More to come soon. Until then, this is Stefanie over and out.

P.S. Bob just walked in... I have something else to do.

Bar Mitzvah Smooth

All I'm saying is that every young man should look this good on the day of his Bar Mitzvah.

Ms. Laura

Ms. Laura recently came into Bob's studio for a few classy portraits. As it turns out she's a local Real Estate broker who was looking to update her look for her website and advertising campaign. I mean if you're looking to buy or sell a home you want to know who you're working with right?

So together, Ms. Laura and Bob created some really beautiful professional portraits that are sure to knock your socks off. I know I just found my next broker...

Portrait Time

How about a little Thursday portrait fun?

Mr. Kim is an architect in Boston and recently became a member of the State Board that screens architects for state projects. With that membership comes the need for a new portrait for the Board website. Enter Bob and his studio.
Admit it, you're jealous of the tie. I think it's awesome.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Check back next week to see what's coming next. Stefanie out!

Moira and David's Wedding

After that Bat Mitzvah post I bet I've got you wondering what's coming next.

I don't? Oh.

Well, I promised a wedding and here it is. Potential Grooms I suggest you either leave the room or persuade your loved one not to keep reading. Reading this blog may be the equivalent of catching that bridal bouquet. And we all know that you would rather your loved one come home with a black eye than catch that bouquet. You've been warned.

And now for the beautiful Bride.
Of course you can't forget the Groom.
At the reception, the cutting of the cake starts out normally enough, and then turns into my favorite cake cutting event ever. The food toss.
See, weddings can be fun! I have no idea what happened to her dress and if it lived to see another day without frosting, but does it matter? Moira, I respect your nerve.

P.S. Best wishes to the happy couple!

Haley Bat Mitzvah

I hope you're ready to party... No really, I am. I've told you that Bob is an amazing event photographer, but for the first time I get to show you. What I mean is this post starts out innocent enough, but by the end you will feel like turning up the music and throwing a big hoopla for all your family and friends. And when you do, you'll want it to be fun, and you'll want to remember it. A little like this.

Ready?

A few weeks ago, Bob had the pleasure of photographing Ms. Haley's Bat Mitzvah. Earlier in the week Bob met with the Bat Mitzvah girl and her family at their Temple for some beautiful and classy portraits.

That Saturday evening following the service... well, you know how it goes. Get that music ready.
Congratulations to Haley and her family! And please don't ever forget the silver top hats.

DC Travels

This past Easter Bob had the opportunity to check out the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC. I of course am extremely jealous, but I'll try to keep my envious comments to a minimum. I mean it's not like the weather was goregous or the blossoms were in full bloom...Dripping sarcasm aside, the weather was beautiful and the blossoms were at their peak. In short the trip was a photographer's dream and Bob made the most of it. He even snuck in a few magnolia shots.
Maybe next year I'll make it to DC. Until next time... Stefanie over and out.

Interiors and Eye Candy

So now that I've gotten this blog started, Bob has fallen head over tea kettles for it. He loves it. Absolutely loves it. And to think that he called me crazy for wanting to set one up.

Now you see why I was willing to take all the blame.

Since Bob has become such a fan, he has decided to take the opportunity to play catch up. Today we have a series of photographs taken last fall of the McCall and Almy building in downtown Boston. These two photographs were taken for Commodore Builders on the 37th floor to showcase their plate glass work.Out the window to your right you can even see the Old Custom House. But if you're afraid of heights, you probably shouldn't look.
Now of course you remember that Bob does more than interiors. He's also an amazing portrait photographer. I give you Miss Susan, a professional hairstylist and practicing belly dancer. Susan recently decided to start teaching belly dancing and asked Bob to help her launch her web campaign. Long story short, here's some eye candy.
I'll be back soon with some weddings, some bar and bat mitzvahs, and maybe even a few shots from the archives.

Ms. Lando

Ms. Lando contacted Bob a little while back looking for a simple but sophisticated portrait. Like most individuals, Ms. Lando wanted something personal to be subtly included in her photograph and brought along an abacus. Bob worked with Ms. Lando in the studio and together they created something that I think is stunning.
Have a wonderful weekend and check back again soon!

Just a few recent interior shots taken to show off this building. You should see these two in print.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to blog of photographer Robert Ruscansky.

Some fun facts about Robert:

1. His friends call him Bob, which means you should call him Bob.
2. Bob has more than 30 years of photography experience. Yes, 30.
3. From weddings to portraits to Bar or Bat Mitzvahs... Bob is your man.
4. Bob is also available for your commercial and architectural photography needs.

I however am not Bob. I'm Stefanie, Bob's photography assistant. Bob is shooting away in the studio while I toil on the computer in the back room. You could say this whole blog thing is my fault, but I'm willing to take the blame. For the most part I'll also be the one posting.

I'll leave you today with one of Bob's recent studio portraits. Please check back often to see more examples of Bob's work. I promise to keep you entertained, and the photography is worth the visit.
